Our Teen Club was set up in 2013 to provide a youth club for our youngsters with Down’s syndrome. The aim of the club is to provide the opportunity for our teenagers to socialise, have fun, make friends and gain independence in a supportive and encouraging environment.
The Teen Club meet monthly, generally on the first Friday of the month, at a venue in Flitwick, where activities include table tennis, games, arts & crafts, as well as special evenings such as pizza making, film night, dance sessions.
We have also organised outings such as ten pin bowling, tennis in the park, train journey to MacDonald’s, trampoline park, meal at a restaurant, crazy golf, indoor play area, cycling and pond dipping at Marston Moretaine.
We have a dedicated Teen Club leader and also helpers who support and encourage the youngsters to take part and interact.
There is a charge for sessions, payable on a termly basis, but the Teen Club is also subsidised by the Support Group.
We have seen the teenagers who attend grow in confidence, develop friendships and of course have lots of fun!
