Fantastic family day out

On the 1st June we visited Herrings Green Farm and Bird of Prey Centre where we had a really lovely time.

The outing was for the whole family and was subsidised by the Support Group. It provided the opportunity for everyone to interact with the animals and birds of prey, no matter what their age. And it enabled our families to meet and get to know each other at a fun event.

Parents comments:

“Great day”

“It was a lovely day and the guides were very knowledgeable”

“A great family day out and lovely to meet more families”

Huge thank you to the staff

Staff at the farm arranged a perfect day for us.  Starting off with  holding a white faced scops owl and a tawny owl, followed by a flying display of various birds of prey, and then our own exclusive owl flying session . After lunch we had a meet & greet session, where we could stroke a skunk, corn snake and ferret & then we were able to feed the goats!

Our allocated staff member was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable and made sure everyone had a chance to hold the animals and owls. They also ensured that our sessions were exclusively for our group. The organisation and professionalism of the staff made the day a great success!

Join in the fun

The Support Group organises numerous family outings and activites throughout the year. This is a great way to meet other families, make friends  and have fun together. It provides our children and youngsters with vital social opportunities and also enables everyone in the family to be part of a friendly supportive community.

If you have a baby, child, teenager or adult who has Down’s syndrome, why not join us today and be part of that community?
